ROOM AND BOARD

By the time I arrived in Amsterdam, I was longing for a place to call my own for a minute. Having spent a week and a half living from a backpack, I just wanted to unpack and figure out if I had any clean clothes in the bottom of the pack! The room I ended up with was cute as hell.

It was very 'Diary of Anne Frank'. Tiny little room at the top of this narrow, winding staircase. The shared bath was down the hall, so the room consisted of a bed, table, and a big window over looking the canal.

I spent the majority of my time at this window. The smoke alarm was really sensitive, so anytime I lit up, it would go off. Thus, me huddled in front of the window...

I was just happy to have a place of my own so far from home. The trip suddenly changed gears for me once I could set up camp and stay put in one town.
